Timothy stamm

Bonsai Social was founded in 2024 by Timothy Stamm, a retired NYPD Detective whose career has been defined by discipline, dedication, and a passion for continuous growth. During his twenty years of dedicated service to the city of New York, Tim found his passion in ornamental horticulture, where he built extensive hands-on experience working with plants, trees and landscape design.  His appreciation for nature, patience, and attention to detail naturally led him to the art of bonsai, where creativity and horticultural skill come together.  Today, he brings that unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to The Bonsai Social, creating a welcoming experience where people can relax, connect, and discover the rewarding practice of bonsai creation and care.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tim is an accomplished endurance athlete. He is an avid runner and a three-time Ironman triathlon finisher, demonstrating his commitment and devotion to everything that he does. Tim believes that meaningful experiences are created when people step out of the comfort zone of daily routine and engage in something challenging, hands-on, social, and memorable. Alongside his wife, Nicole, and their son, Ethan, Tim enjoys sharing his passion for bonsai, and through The Bonsai Social, he combines his love of nature, community, and personal growth into a one-of-a-kind social event.
