Frequently asked questions

Q.  How long are your workshops?

A.  Bonsai Social workshops run for about an hour and a half to two hours, but you’re free to stay after the workshop ends and enjoy the venue with your friends as long as they stay open.

Q.  My friend wants to come and watch. Does she need a ticket?

A.  When held at facilities that are open to the public, it’s cool with us if your friend wants to chill while you create your masterpiece.

But only one tree, pot, toolset, etc. will be provided per ticket.

Q.  Are your classes appropriate for children?

A.  Unfortunately, we operate at adult-oriented venues that may not be appropriate for children. Add to that the presence of lots of dirt, water, dozens of tiny, delicate trees, and lots of sharp pruning shears on every table. We ask that children are not brought to BonsaiSocial events.

Q.  Are refunds available?

A.  Once registered and paid, refunds are not available. Cancellations made through our website (cancellation link) with at least 24 hours notice will receive a credit and will be permitted to choose a future workshop to attend.

Any no-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours of the start of a workshop WILL NOT have the opportunity to defer to another workshop.

Q. My tree is dead… now what??

A.  Tree care can be hard. If your tree dies within three months of our workshop, we’ll give you a new one.  It’s that simple.

Your dog chewed it?  New tree.

You watered it with bleach? New tree.

You left it in the snow? Well, new tree.

Just email us at:

tim@thebonsaisocial.com

and tell us why your tree died.

Photos are strongly encouraged but not mandatory. Then stop by another workshop of your choice and pick up a new tree. Please check out our
